September 2011 - Wing Repairs & Fitting
This was quite a busy period with a variety of repairs being undertaken at the same time. The replacement wings and one of the doors were taken to the bodyshop for 'fettling' - my metal working skills being minimal. They were all stripped back to bare metal with repair sections being fabricated and fitted, new wing to splash guard support brackets were also fabricated and welded to the wings. One of the main wing attachment bolt on members ('A' Post) and both splash guards were missing - fortunately I was able to source replacement new old stock items. The upper wings had been repaired back in 2006 and they only required rubbing down and re-priming prior to fitting on the car.
