A Restoration Story
I acquired my 1957 Wolseley 15/50 in August of 1999 from a gentleman that lived in Southport, he was a fireman - I imagine there must have been some left over paint at the fire station as the registration documents revealed the original colour of the car was grey. Living at that time on the coast of Cornwall inevitably meant the salty sea air slowly began to take it's toll on the old car as the metal moth attacked the sills, door bottoms, wings - all the usual places for this model. I decided in 2005 that as I was about to retire and move to the midlands, the rust problem should be addressed once and for all - and the car returned to something close to its original colour.
Here then is a chronological photographic record of the complete restoration carried out mainly by Grandad George in his small lock up garage.
