January 2012 - Lamps, Quarter Lights & Channelling

During the period that the car was in the bodyshop a number of spare part acquisitions were made including electrical components such as connector sleeves, bullets, terminals and a variety of correct colour coded wiring loom cabling. New headlamp buckets with rubber gaskets were also sourced. Such was the poor condition of all the window channelling and rubber seals that it all required replacing. This was easier said than done but eventually new window door seals were found as was new channelling for the rear quarter lights. The front passenger quarter light hinge was broken but a good used replacement assembly was eventually acquired. All of the door window channelling was either rust damaged or had completely rotted away, no replacement parts could be found so repair sections were fabricated that produced a very effective solution.
