Description

Lemon Meyer (Qld only)Very popular back yard variety with large fruit. It is not a true lemon but in fact a hybrid of a lemon and orange. Very hardy and prolific fruiting. Suits coastal sub tropics well and is dwarf in size.

It is a very popular fruit within Asian cultures as a pickled fruit

Highly ornamental

They have a great flavour and have good storing ability once cut

The black fruit has an edible tough skin

They have an attractive weeping habit

with a pale green/yellow skin when ripe

it’s a welcome addition to any backyard

Also known as the blue mango due to its dark purple blue blush

It is best grown in well drained sandy or sandy loam soils

It has moderate resistance to Anthracnose and very good resistance to Bacterial Black Spot

Cooler climate will bring more colour to the fruit

but its hardiness makes it useful it could use this variety to graft onto in colder regions
