2013 Finca Dofí, Álvaro Palacios, Priorat, SpainAlways eagerly anticipated; Finca Dofi is intense, generous and velvety, yet it remains a very fairly priced offering from lvaro Palacios. The 2013 effort has wonderful floral notes, framed by fine tannins and acidity. Vibrant and forward, thus extended ageing isnt required but this will develop until 2025. A good introduction to fine Priorat.

This pair of casks complemented each other so magnificently that we vatted them together to allow each to share the other’s greatest features: one bringing richness and generosity of spirit

this is no blockbuster but has a piercing intensity

the volume of flavour is outstanding but all kept in check by a beautiful structure

With distinct aromas of black cherry

Quite weighty in a good way

Pale to mid ruby

it is fully developed and beautifully aged

long and graceful

this is powerful stuff with ripe

it’s only produced in top vintages and there’s normally a scant 400-500 cases to go around

The firm tannins and fresh acidity should ensure a long and delicious future for this very fine Figeac

The finesse of the tannins was noticeable
