Description

Open Spaces 210x22 inches, oil on panel, unframed I wanted to create a series of small paintings that felt spacious. I started by laying in color on a number of panels to establish the palette for the series. I then applied many additional layers of paint, mixing color on the surface, pushing back and forth between dark and light, muted color and saturated, editing, contemplating, adjusting until each painting felt complete and distinct.
