suntory old 70th anniversary of suntoryIn 1969, Suntory Kotobukiya celebrated the company's 70th anniversary. This special bottling of Suntory Old was released for this occasion. Metal labels were used for the bottle. Since only a few bottles were produced, these are extremely rare today. The bottle and outer packaging show signs of age related use and storage.

They were never available for purchase in stores

at least 12-year-old peated malt and grain whiskies were purchased and blended on-site

There is a small dent in the screw cap

and they sold out within hours

limited to 961 bottles

this blend was finished in a variety of casks

The whisky matured for just over three years in an American bourbon cask

especially as a 50ml miniature
